Collosal

I was just reading the email thread in my org's yahoo groups account and found an interesting comment by no other than my gayest friend ever, Carlos.

Ely: (praising Carlos for being an unsung hero of the org.)
Carlos: "I'm not collosal; I'm sexy"

It made me laugh.

Movie Review: Once (Irish musical film)

It is uncommon for me to fall in love with a romantic flick.

I've waited a long time for my next favorite romantic flick after Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Nothing really had suited my taste lately.

I had the song "Falling Slowly" of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova in my iPod for a long time since I just copy songs from my sister, Ja.
I knew that it was from a movie but I didn't know it was a good one.

Last last Sunday, after having a nice Mexican meal at Soho in Central, I saw the poster of "Once". I got attracted to it because it won an award in the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.

From experience, movies nominated in this awarding body are really unforgettable and good. So I asked Allan to download it.

The next day, he told me that he likes this particular song from the movie. It was "Falling Slowly" and I listened to it again. I promised myself to watch it as soon as I find some time to do so. And so I did.

I fell in love with the movie, the characters and the songs.

Its rapport is Before Sunrise-esque but boasts a less talk, more music style.

The movie trusts the audience enough to leave the best parts of the movie unstated.
It was a short 90 minute flick where the characters uttered few words but expressed full emotion to let the audience understand what is going on.

It's not the typical Hollywood film where the storyline is explicitly stated making it over the top and common.

I cried not because somebody died or anything.
I cried because I was so touched. There were things left unsaid in the movie that made me fall in love with it more than I expected.
I cried because after so many years, I fell in love again with a wonderful, non-Hollywood flick.
I cried because there was no instance in the movie that you'd hear the word "LOVE" but you knew that it was there.
I cried because I could relate.
I cried because I felt it. Enough said.

Watch it.

Im Lazy,

Since I'm too lazy to think on what to blog, I will just post pictures of the stuff I've done lately.

Music Review: The Script is Love :)

Ja just suddenly sent me some of The Script's songs last week and I am at awe.
I sent it to Chiqui and she liked it. It's like the voice of Jason Mraz but John Mayer music or vice versa.

I have always been a fan of alternative, indie and pop rock. These types have the nicest lyrics ever.

Currently I'm listening to Breakeven. I put it in Autoplay mode.

Breakeven - The Script

This song is for all stuck up people. hehe..

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you and What am I suppose to say when I'm all choked up and your ok

I also like The Man Who Can't Be Moved

The Man Who Cant Be Moved - The Script

" Coz if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be, Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet, And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street. So I'm not moving... I'm not moving. "

Tell me if you like the songs. I have a bunch here in my laptop.

Ciao!
Bons

Mood: Excited to take fasyon pictures later at TST!

4th Anniversary

Just when I thought that it will be just an ordinary day since I'm miles away from boyfriend, I was wrong. Today is our 4th anniversary and yes you read that right. 4 years.

When I arrived in our HK office this morning, I saw these on top of my table.

I was touched. I blushed and my boss Elsie saw it.

Thank you Fred :) You made my day today. Happy 4th year.

Thanks to Chiqui for doing the favor for him :)

Matalino ka pa man din

Nagpabrainwash ka.
Akala ko matalino ka?
Diyos ang tingin nila sayo dati,
Mali pala sila.

Sayang ka.
Sayang na sayang.

Ang taas ng tingin ko sayo dati
.
(which doesn't usually happen though, mahirap kasi ako talaga maimpress)
Ngayon? ah eh...

Explaining again

Some people might be wondering if I'm having fun here in Hong kong?

I am having fun but everyday is tiring. VERY.

I had lunches and dinners with different people for the past 2 weeks, both work and non work related.

Those are the perks of my job. You get to eat lunch and dinner with the bosses and get to know them more.

As a product marketing engineer, you get to meet clients, business partners and other important people in the industry. Hence, you gotta be charming, flexible and versatile. You must know a lot of things not just the techie stuff. You must know facts about the countries where your clients and partners come from, so you'll be able to talk about anything under the sun.
You must talk to them even if they're mabaho or not, even if they speak good English or not, you have to drink with them if they ask you too.

It's not easy doing all the stuff I do for the company. Believe me. It's not as other people would think. I may get to travel often and see beautiful places, take good pictures, meet wonderful people, but at par to that, THERE ARE NUMEROUS TASKS TO BE DONE.

I hate it when other people underestimate my job. It's not as boring as programming you know. It is so dynamic that you will love every minute of it.

Good pay (yay), fab travel perks, plus you get to VOICE OUT your opinions without being looked down by higher officials.

You don't do the same things everyday. You don't do that. That'd be so boring. That'd be boring like programming. No offence to programmers. That's really not my thing. :)

I hate it when I explain to people everytime they ask me why didn't I become a software engineer or whatsoever.

My job is an infusion of marketing + engineering + etc etc. I do understand the technical parts because I have to know my products very well. I must know what T=0 protocol means when it comes to smart card support and stuff like that. I must know how fast the baud rate is for reading and writing cards, plus i must know where the market of a certain device is, how much is the competitor's product plus which picture looks best for the newsletter or which keypad is more functional.

I decide those things. I think about those things. I do materials for those things. I do the presentations for clients. and the list goes on.

So if someone would ask me what I really do, I actually don't know how to answer all of these in 10 minutes. Aside from the things mentioned, I do technical support, I exchange emails with partners and haunt for the best chip for a new upcoming device. I study the market and
compare our prices with the others. I read press releases, I write them, I proofread them etc. So I dunno if my pay compensates all of these. The travels do actually.

It is product management at its finest.

So the next time people ask me about my job. I will just tell them, "Product Management" so no further questions will be asked. It sounds arrogant but I just hate explaining and justifying my job.

Serotonin Galore

Ok, I just came back from a meeting with our business partners from Atmel.

And my body is full of serotonin right now and I am smiling from ear to ear.

We had a meeting with 2 French guys, both are married and both are probably in their mid 30's. And guess what, I did not understand anything about their presentation because my eye was glued to one of them. His name is Jean-Charles.
HE WAS SO EFFIN' HOT! Visual Masturbation at its finest.

I'm totally decided. I'm more attracted to guys with French accent over British or German ones. I like American too but this particular French guy made me smile for 2 whole hours.

For the past 2 weeks, I had meetings with Indonesians, Brazilians, an American and a Singaporean. Today was different. My body is still shivering and I still can't get over at the idea that I met a god-like creature from Mt. Olympus or something.

I felt like I met James Bond. I felt like the female co actress of 007 Casino Royale. He was wearing a coat and he has a good ass!

Chie is still blushing up to now. Both of us can't get over to the idea that we had a meeting with a god-like creature.

Geez.
The accent made my knees so weak. Thank God I was sitting the whole time. Yun lang,

No pictures were taken because the meeting was with our CEO. So I wouldn't dare. He smiled at me a couple of times though.

waaah!

Eating tortoise

I had some tortoise jelly last weekend.

It is called Gui Ling Gao and is made of ground tortoise parts, plus ginseng and other herbal medicines. It is better if you pour an UNFORGIVABLE amount of Honey to make it taste better.

I did not finish the bowl because I was thinking of the picture of a tortoise in front of the table. I ended up buying Schweppes Cream Soda - a big one. hehe.

Nabother ako and naawa at the same time. It is said that tortoise can make your skin look KC Concepcion-esque. The next time you visit hong Kong you should try this.

Yes, tortoise as in the land turtles.

HOMELESS

I found a lifestyle store at Causeway Bay last Saturday while touring around John who came all the way from Jersey for a visit.

The store was very interesting. Their stuff range from lamps to gift wrappers to tape holders to umbrellas to spoon and what have you.

Notice the lamps,

and the scotch tape holder

and the other stuff.

The prices aren't that expensive either. You can buy a lamp for less than 2,500 pesoses. Good gift ideas for Christmas. I will be going there again this weekend and look around, but this time, I will be on my own so I can concentrate. :)

On People

People by nature USE other people
to achieve their goals and needs.
And when they're done,
they will totally forget those who helped them
along the way.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

Getting Inspiration

I cannot think of anything to blog about right now because again, I don't want to create issues. I will wait until I become nice. Since I'm here in Hongkong, I will have to dress up like the people here. Hence the tights, wedges, boots and what have you. I'm getting inspiration everyday from of course, the stellar, The Sartorialist.

I have a similar coat, dress and peep toe pumps.

I'm dying to wear something like this. But I dunno if I can pull that off.

I have the button down shirt, skirt, boots and bag. But i don't have the legs and that fab jacket.

Ok, I'm dreaming of something like this but I don't have the body to do so.

And of course, I'm wondering if our MEN would want to wear something this.

or this

Anubah Bons! T-shirt weather in Pinas no. Stupid.
